Choosing the Right Sliding Door Closing System

Weight Close System: On sliding doors a weight box mounts next to the door and pulls the door closed when the fuse link separates or from an electromagnetic release device, which can be tied to the building’s life safety system.

Reel Close System: A spring loaded cable reel mounted at track height pulls a sliding door closed when the fuse link separates or from an electromagnetic release device, which can be tied to the building’s life safety system.

Motorized: The operator system includes heat detectors and a battery backup system that closes a sliding door when heat is detected. The battery backup insures that a sliding door operates even in a power failure. Motorized systems may also be tied to the building’s life safety system.
